Located south of St. Louis, Grant’s Farm is a 281-acre wildlife preserve of more than 900 animals and 100 different species. The Farm, operated by Anheuser-Busch, is named for President Ulysses S. Grant, who farmed the land in the 1850s. Reservations are not required. Parking fee, no admission.
More than 80 works of contemporary sculpture lie within a 105-acre natural landscape. The park hosts several exhibitions and a multitude of cultural events each year. Open daily from 8 a.m. to sunset (except for Christmas Day and the Thursday before the Annual Art Fair on Mother’s Day Weekend). FREE.
The Powder Valley Conservation Nature Center offers three woodland trails on 112 acres. It also features exhibits, a wildlife viewing area and a gift shop. Closed Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day.
